Adult volleyball

adult volleyball splatter-backgroundAdult volleyball is in essence difficult to define as many ‘Adult teams’ do have juniors playing in them.  Ideally it is usually classed as 16 years plus but quite often is dependent on ability.

In the first place, the EMVA regional league were created as not all counties have local same-sex or mixed-sex leagues in place. There are now 2 men’s divisions and 1 women’s although there are almost enough teams to increase that.

Anyone is able to submit a team before the start of the season (usually September) as long as they conform to the rules.

As mentioned elsewhere on the site there are quite a number of social and recreational groups in the East Mids area.  Additionally, many don’t conform to the standard structure as set out by Volleyball England.

All things considered there are benefits like insurance cover that come with being registered with VE.  When it comes to playing and competing in the region we do not expect every team to be affiliated to VE, although that would be nice to see.

We don’t want to stop anyone playing adult volleyball as long as it is safe.
