Nottinghamshire volleyball has a strong tradition of volleyball clubs and also social volleyball groups over the whole of the county.
It also seems like every year there are more and more always popping up. Consequently there are a number of recreation groups in the county.
If someone wants to step it up a notch some clubs also have formal training too. Also a couple enter teams both into the East Midlands regional leagues and National volleyball league (NVL).
There are at least 2 junior volleyball clubs in Notts. Also a number of schools have volleyball sessions on a regular basis. Furthermore, the 2 universities have thriving volleyball clubs for students and play in the BUCS league system.
Furthermore, Nottinghamshire volleyball association wants to keep you up to date with what is going on. So, are you a social group in the Notts area and would like more members? Or are you thinking of starting a group just get in contact and let us know.

Beach volleyball is being showcased again with 2 events being held every week throughout the Riviera. Every Wednesday (6.30 – 9pm) is competition night with 16 teams over 4 evenings trying to qualify for the final and ultimately become the kings and queens of the Nottingham Riviera beach championship. Volleyball is a popular sport in the East Midlands and 8 of our local clubs will be showing the public and each other what they can do.

The team have been battling out against all the top Junior club sides in the country and have made excellent progress this year. After coming through the initial rounds fairly comfortably they made their way through to the last 8 which was a first for any Rockets U16’s Team. After a slow start losing to Boswells in their first game they rallied to win the rest of their games to take their place in the semi final.
Coming second in their pool meant they would play against the winners of the other pool Wessex in the semi

By applying to be a part of this, candidates can attend a range of CPD courses and get £100 towards their Level 1 fee, meaning the cost would only be £50! The funding is however only available to candidates in the Nottingham City area.
I am very pleased to announce that the Nottinghamshire County Volleyball Association is once again up and running. Our first task has been to form a new committee and we held our first meeting on Monday the 26th of September 2011. One of the main aims of the Association is quite simple, to increase the number of people participating in Volleyball in the County. To that end our first initiative is going to be to set up a central venue competition once a month at the new Nottinghamshire Volleyball Centre Southglade Leisure Centre.

Over the last two weekends, over 20 junior Rockets players, many of whom are part of the East Midlands Junior Squads, have been involved in the preliminary rounds of the Volleyball England Junior National Championships. For the first time in the club’s history, Nottingham Rockets now have 3 squads through to the second round including an U18 women’s side. Congratulations to all involved!
Worksop Volleyball Club are celebrating success at both Senior and Junior level. Worksop Volleyball Club have been in existence for over 20 years, and recently have had the most successful period in the clubs long history. The club are developing well and are now working towards the E.V.A. 123 accreditation. The club offers an outlet for competitive and social volleyball for all ages from 12 upwards and play in the Mens East Midlands Division 1 and the Notts Mixed League.
