PVC Leicester Volleyball club

PVC Leicester volleyball bannerPVC Leicester is a local league volleyball club with teams in the Men’s, Women’s and Mixed leagues of the Leicester Volleyball Association local league. We play volleyball socially (we try not to get too upset if we don’t win), and mix socially outside of matches and training.

In previous years we have entered teams at Sandwell, the largest outdoor volleyball tournament in the world, which was held near Birmingham. From these beginnings, the club has now ventured into Europe, playing at Ertvelde, Belgium, for the past ten years, as well as in many beach tournaments in Britain.

University – Loughborough University

Loughborough Uni group photoWith over 80 members annually, the LSVC not only competes at four league levels (University, National, Regional and Local) but excels in them as well. Since its establishment in the mid 1970’s, the Loughborough Students Volleyball Club (LSVC) has long been the gold standard for student-managed volleyball clubs in the UK.

In University competition, LSVC’s history is littered with many top 3 finishes on both the men’s and women’s side with recent successes including National Shield winners 2014,  BUCS Plate Champions in 2009-10 and representing the UK at the European Universities Volleyball Championships in 2006.

Many of the students joining the club and alumni (including many of the current women’s GB players) have represented their country in international competition. On the National Level, Loughborough Students, particularly the women, used to vie annually for the championship in the highest division earning a Cup victory as recently as 2006.

Now both teams compete in the second division and battle for promotion into division one. In addition to our teams, we also run a recreational program for students new to the sport. These members help breathe spirit into the club and are a large reason for its successes. With the ability to cater to all levels of playing ability, a storied history and a promising future, it is clear that the LSVC is the club for you!
