East Mids juniors competing on the national stage

junior volleyball

On Sunday 15th May, Ashfield Vipers competed in the finals of the U15 National Championship at Loughborough University, featuring the last 6 teams in the competition.

They were drawn in a tough pool with Tameside and Beach Academy, who both went on to make the final. Both pool matches were competitive, but ultimately ended in defeat.

This left the team in the 5th place play off versus City of Salford and having won a tight 1st set 25-23, Vipers dominated the 2nd set, winning 25-7.

The girls have made great progress over the course of the season, and can take a lot of pride from finishing 5th in the country.

The Vipers based at Ashfield School also compete in the NVL DIv 3 and heavily feature in the East Mids junior development squads.
